Do three-wheeled bicycles offer greater safety?

Three-wheel bicycles

It has been too long since we abandoned our first three-wheeled bicycle, the tricycle from our early years with which we rode around happily and carefree; should we really consider one at our age?!
And if so, then how come?!

We have grown up, we have become parents, and we now buy tricycles for our youngest children, and yet even they no longer ride them, switching to a two-wheeled bike with or without support wheels, so why should we care about three-wheeled bikes now! In this article we reveal some reasons for having one.

1. Three-wheel bicycles are stable.

a) Keeping your balance is child's play when cycling alone. Even if you fall once, so what! The situation is different if you have a precious load to carry, an infant, a small child, or even an older child (I once witnessed a bike fall off while stationary with a child in the seat). If you then have two children, riding a two-wheeler becomes not only dangerous, but also prohibited by the highway code.

b) However much you may have been born on a bike, falling is not an option as you get older. An accidental fall is more dangerous when you are no longer 20 years old. Besides, with a family to run, who can afford a broken arm!

2. 3-wheel bikes are capacious.

Cargo or family bikes come in different types. With regard to the number of wheels, they can be 2 or 3-wheelers. Two-wheel cargo bikes, like one of the long bike subspecies, are more capacious than a normal bike and can carry more weight. However, in terms of capacity, only three-wheel bikes can carry a large basket on the front or rear (the least happy solution in terms of manoeuvrability). And so you can carry a lot of cargo, four-legged friends and children, sometimes up to 6 (however, the highway code allows a maximum of 4 children to be carried on a specially adapted bike)!

3. 3-wheel bicycles are more comfortable.

Yes-yes! They are comfortable because they are stable, it is easier to get on and off, to load and unload children or even a load:

a) going at walking pace in crowded places (of course for this they must also be agile and manoeuvrable, but the TAGA is!);

b) slow down or stop to see something or have a chat;

c) using it as a chair at an outdoor concert or watching street performers (agility and manoeuvrability also make a difference here);

d) stopping and dismounting even on an uphill or downhill slope for any need, e.g. picking up a lost toy or hat.

4. 3-wheel bikes are more versatile.

You can take the kids for a walk, do the shopping, develop a business, give someone a lift, go to the beach, take one or more four-legged friends and let your imagination run wild!

5. Three-wheel bikes are cool!

I bet you never thought of it that way! But that's only because...

6. Three-wheel bicycles THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME!

Only TAGA BIKE can boast an endless array of awards, only the world's 7 most prestigious awards in the world of cycling, childhood and DESIGN!

An informed choice starts with the right questions.
